Minimalism Madness

Lately I have become mildly obsessed with minimalistic decorating. I think it's a side effect of sharing a room with my daughter. She has her toys, I have my stuff, we're both trying to fit into a master bedroom... Yeah, it isn't pretty. The point here is, I think I'm really liking the minimalism thing. It's so clean and calming, pared down to basics, no frills, no real clutter, a place for everything and everything in its place. I like it. Especially stuff like this,

I love the feel of the space, the built in bench at the table is a perfect blend of function and aesthetic. I'm definitely also digging this mellow, warm bedroom from Desire to Inspire.
Thoughts? Ideas? Neither of these really show practical storage solutions, which I'll be on the lookout for in the future. Expect lots of posts about wading through the clutter and the organization process to follow. Until next time, ciao darlings!

Boots baby!

Autumn is just around the corner, let's talk footwear, oui? My favorite autumn shoes have to be, hands down, BOOTS! Love 'em! I'm going to show you my (reasonably priced) fall picks, lemme know what you think!

First off, in the category of ankle high boots, we have these lovely little treasures:

So cute right? And aren't you dying at the price? Completely affordable! I'm loving the grey, I really am. They'll go perfect with sweater dresses and nice thick tights. Color me excited!

So now we move on to the next category of boots, knee high. I am absolutely loving these sleek, suede numbers:

Also adorable and perfect and lovely. Not super expensive either, which is awesome for all of us on a budget.

The last and final category is a sort of a favorite of mine, is rainboots! If you think you can't get cute rainboots on the cheap, think again. I love these floral ones

Aren't they perfection? So cute. And so cheap! So there you have it, fall footwear that won't break the bank.  What're your go-to pieces for this autumn?

A store, who, moi?

Hello, hello, hello, assorted citizens of the internet. Yes, it has been a while, for which I am terribly sorry. My lack of proper camera is killing my creativity and making me rage. At one point this was supposed to be a daily blog, I'd like to get it there again but it's sort of slow going when I have to rely on my iPhone camera and try not to smash it when it doesn't do what I want. Work, damn you, work!

All of that aside, I am the proud mama of a storefront on styleowner. The dealio with this nifty little site is that you get to put together a collection of designer fashions, from sweet sunnies to killer wedges and everything in between. You can browse my picks and favorites and snag the lovely little bits of awesome. Not going to lie, I do earn a commission for every purchase, but hey, a lady's got to do what a lady's got to do. The point is, cute stuff. Said cute stuff can be seen in my store, Whispers of Madness. Yes, that's the name of this blog as well. Perhaps at some point I'll explain the meaning behind the titles, but that point is not today so the meaning shall, unfortunately remain hidden. My, my, my, aren't I verbose today?

So hey, what do you say, take a look at my treasure trove of fantastic! I'll likely be adding this to the sidebar with the links to my tumblr, twitter, and pinterest so be sure to check back for updated stock!

On that note, my darlings, I believe it's time for Mama Madness to cut this little ramble short. Au revoir, a bientot, adios, be seeing you!

Tuesday Reviewsday!

This Tuesday, I bring you a lovely product from a wonderful etsy shop, Midnight Gypsy Alchemy, which specializes in natural perfumes, candles and salts. I was wandering around the gloriousness that is etsy and stumbled upon this totally awesome little shop after searching for solid perfumes.

It's perfection.

Now, a lot of the scents are vanilla based (which I must admit, I'm not a fan of) but I happened upon one that just screamed my name, Apothecary Rose. Listed as " a simple two note fragrance made of exotic rose absolute, infused in amber resin and rose petals," I knew I had to try it. And hey, at only $5.25 (USD) with shipping, I can definitely afford this sample, right?

So I waited, surprisingly a shorter amount of time than most etsy purchases, and literally bounced with glee when I got this lovely little package in the mail. Ignore how messy it is, I only thought to snap pics after I'd begun to open it.
Oh my gracious, it has a feather and ribbon and a little crystal! For future reference, the noise I made was not human. I was excited, and rightly so. The next bit is even more precious.
I adore the scrollwork around the M. So cute! Alrready though, I could smell roses and I began to worry a bit.
The rose scent was stronger, but not quite overwhelming. I was still mildly worried it would be crazy strong.
Here's the final result, one tiny little sample of creamy bliss. Seriously, creamy bliss. This stuff spreads almost like a lotion, it's so luxuriously moisture-rich. Annnndddd! The scent isn't overpowering at all! I love it, really. I do have to apply about twice a day, once when I get dressed in the morning and once after lunch, but still, it lasts quite some time for a solid perfume. I'm definitely planning to sample more of this gypsy's wares, and buy a full-sized version of the gloriousness that is Apothecary Rose.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled program

Here I am, once again, making a fresh start on this blog. This time I mean it! So today's topic, a softball to get me rolling, is coffee.

I think I'm addicted to it.

That's not actually a problem though. Here, have some coffee love.

Mmmm, caffeine...

holler kids :)

Hola cyberverse, welcome to my blog.

Don't expect it to make much sense, I'm not a sensible kind of girl. But hey, this is me, this is who I am. So don't expect sense, but do expect a healthy dose of classic rock, bad scifi, random historical allusions, and references to people by nickname alone. :)

Are you ready? It's going to be a bumpy ride.
